Chris Proctor Performed at the Higley Center for the Performing Arts
Chris Proctor Performed at the Higley Center for the Performing Arts on October 16, 2017.
He is a fantastic guitar player. One of the best in the United States! I loved his version of The Moody Blue's "Nights In White Satin." It was awesome.
US National Fingerstyle Champion Chris Proctor's guitar-playing on both six- and twelve-string guitars has been described as breathtaking, haunting, rich, and even revelatory while his compositions have been described as spectacular, elegant, and exquisite. Sometimes compared to Leo Kottke and Michael Hedges, Proctor creates guitar music that reflects the whole heritage of the instrument, yet still has his own distinct stamp. Media reviewers trace the roots of his style to folk, jazz, pop, Celtic, Appalachian, and classical musicwith a dash of blues in there somewhereand categorize his playing as "Baroque Folk," "New World Steel String," "Solo Guitar Orchestra," and "Instrumental Americana." Audience members have commented, "It seems as if there are three guitarists up there on stage, not just one" and "Wow, I didn't know that acoustic guitars could sound like that!"
